NOTE TO READERS: This is a transitional post as I have replaced the Weekly Forecast format with a Bimonthly Forecast in sync with the lunar cycle. Part I each month will cover the period from the New Moon up to the Full Moon and Part II will cover the period from the Full Moon up to the next New Moon. Instead of incorporating current and upcoming events into the Forecast, I’ll be writing short posts covering relevant topics. The bimonthly forecasts as well as the archive of Weekly Forecasts can be found by clicking “Forecasts” under “Directory” located in the column to the right of this post.
The Moon represents our emotional outlook and instinctual behavioral patterns. The Moon describes public sentiment and the mood of the market. The word month is derived from the Moon. The new month actually begins when the Sun and Moon conjoin at the New Moon. The planetary energies present at the New Moon influence the entire monthly cycle.
The New Moon represents a new beginning each month. This is the time to initiate new projects and endeavors so they can be nurtured and grow along with the Moon’s light which culminates at the Full Moon. The September 27 Libra New Moon (7:09 AM EDT) activates the energies began at the Autumn Equinox. The Libra New Moon represents a new beginning in relationships, partnerships, and alliances. New relationships are initiated and established relationships could be suddenly severed or take on an entirely new dimension as what had been brewing under the surface erupts.
Mercury and the New Moon conjoined the Libra Ascendant of the New Moon chart set for the USA.(1) Venus is the planetary ruler of the chart and is in the sector representing the nation’s outlook conjoining Saturn in Libra. Venus rules money and banks. Financial relationships are first and foremost on the nation’s mind as the general public is waking up to the harsh reality that their financial situation is becoming bleaker as banks turn to imposing more fees on their customers to compensate for the policies implemented by their regulator the Federal Reserve (Saturn) that inhibits banks ability to profit through lending.
Neptune in Aquarius resides in the sector of the New Moon chart ruling the stock market which is ruled by Aquarius’ planetary ruler Uranus. There could be incidences of fraud, insider trading, and spreading rumors. As described in the Autumn Equinox post, Mercury and the Sun opposing Uranus in Aries stirs up a lot of volatile action as the market tries to make up its mind which direction to go.
Mars in Leo squares Jupiter in Taurus early on Monday, October 3 which can generate outsized market moves in either or both directions. Which way the market settles by the end of the day depends on global financial conditions as Jupiter expands current sentiment. The Moon enters Capricorn at 4:16 AM EDT until later Wednesday morning (October 5). The Moon in Saturn-ruled Capricorn tends to dampened enthusiasm for risk taking unless the government shares the risk.
What began at the New Moon takes on added urgency at the First Quarter Moon. The First Quarter Moon in Saturn-ruled Capricorn October 3 (11:15 PM EDT) conjoins Pluto and squares the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn in Libra.
Capricorn rules government and big business which are in the tightest relationship they’ve ever been in. The Quarter Moon conjoining Pluto in Capricorn while squaring the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn indicates banks and corporations will have to transform their reputation with the public who views them as taking more than their fair share while giving back nothing in return.
The First Quarter Moon opposes the July 1 Solar Eclipse. Events at that time could reach a culmination point now. The Quarter Moon impacts the natal Sun (self-identity; leadership) of China, France, Germany, the UK, and New York City. Saturn’s energy contracts. There are numerous signs that China’s economy is contracting along with the economies of the U.S. and Western Europe burdened by high debt levels.
Venus rules the chart for the First Quarter Moon in the USA, and is located in the sector representing the stock market. Mercury and Venus in Libra would like to find a way to sugarcoat the financial news but Mercury conjoining Saturn here will be forced to present the cold, hard facts that are keeping the market under pressure.
The Moon entering Aquarius Wednesday at 11:18 AM until 9:13 PM Friday, October 7 could bring an upside surprise that reverses the sentiment of the previous two days. Expect the unexpected in any event as the Aquarius Moon accentuates the extreme energies of Uranus.
Venus enters Scorpio Sunday, October 9 until November 2. Venus is at home in Libra and Taurus but feels exposed in Scorpio, Taurus’ opposite sign. Venus in Scorpio makes money dealing with debt and transforming trash to treasures. Opaque and secret financial transactions could be exposed during this transit.
Tuesday, October 10 could find the market concerned that Congress could fail to reach more than a short term solution to the current fiscal year budget as well as agreement to reduce the deficit could impede the market’s ability to push further ahead.
Part II of this forecast will cover the October 11 Aries Full Moon up to the Scorpio New Moon on October 26, 2011.
